Student jazz band Bring on the Chops gets Timaru ‘grooving’


A rookie teenage jazz quintet is thrilled about getting people “grooving” in the streets of Timaru.

Bring on the Chops, comprising drummer George Duncan, trumpeter Josh Lovely, trombonist Isa Creba, and saxophonists Matthew Creba and Sarah Duncan, had Christmas shoppers dancing in the streets in December as they busked on Strathallan Corner.

“It’s the best praise you can have as a musician, just people grooving along,” George Duncan, 16, said.
